This year's theme is a daring white and black entry with four large turning drums with children standing in bandstands above. The main idea is based around music and musical instruments. The music this year is Shout by Rocky Sharp and the Replays. The colourful costumes make the children stand out more. Again Dan Warr is at the front of the float and this is his last year. He has started up his own carnival club called Motiv8 CC; they came third at Taunton so they are all very pleased. Their entry is called life is a flower. Yeovil Carnival we are going all out for best local entry and best local costume as well as our own class. The generator box was designed and painted by Dan Warr and Helen Extance. We are again indebted to Maurice Loder who lends us the space to build and also drives the Tractor to and from Carnival and on route. He is dressed in purple like the children this year. Whilst parked at the farm hay bails fell down out of the barn and hit the front of the generator damaging the turntable and models. It took two to three days of hard work to repair the float so it was able to attend at Chard Carnival. We are on track again this year to be the South Somerset Juvenile Federation Champions as we have won first at all the Carnival`s attended including our home town Yeovil. The children on the float are putting together a fundraising Christmas show of dance and song, not only to raise money but also to generate interest from others that may wish to join. It is on Saturday December 9th in the Lower school Hall of Westfield Comprehensive School at 7.15pm. Tickets £2.50 for adults and £1 for children 16 or under.
